What are the differences between a parsable PDF, an image-based PDF, and other file types like JPEG, PNG, etc.?
-
- Parsable PDF: A PDF where data/info about the PDF can be extracted, e.g., font, spacing, alignment can be reviewed.
- Image-based PDF: A document/picture that was originally a JPEG, PNG, etc. (file other than PDF) that is then flattened and saved/turned into a PDF, e.g., scanning a document, converting it to a PDF; not all data/information (e.g., font, spacing, alignment) can be extracted from the file (this may affect which types of signals can be detected on the PDF).
